There are many illegal drugs that can be homegrown or purchased on the black market. While there are some low-risk illegal drugs, many of the illegal drugs can be very dangerous. Many fatalities each year are caused by overdosing on these drugs. As there is not a lot of information available on the safe levels of dosage on these narcotics, it is extremely easy to overdose, which can cause injury or death.

In addition to the risk of overdosing, illegal drugs tend to be highly addictive, which can put your financial stability at risk. As illegal drugs tend to be extremely expensive, addicts can find themselves in very unpleasant situations. Many drug dealers will exploit addictions, which is equal to the risk of health problems associated from drug use.

There are many types of illegal drugs. The most common class of drug is those, like marijuana, that are psychotics. Psychotics change the way the mind operates, allowing for highs or unnatural feelings of calm, joy. Narcotics with these sort of effects tend to have periods of ‘coming down’, which is the bodies adjustment to the lack of stimulant.

Hallucinogenics are another class of popular illegal drug. These are stereotyped, usually in the form of ‘magic mushrooms’. LSD is an example of a well known hallucinogenic and psychedelic illegal drug.

Opiates are a type of illegal drug that is commonly tested for and easy to acquire. Created from the common Asian poppy plant, opiates are known to have hallucinogenic effects. Opiates tend to be social drugs, used in groups or at social gatherings.

One of the most dangerous types of illegal drugs are stimulants. A well known stimulant is meth, which can be produced by items acquired from local pharmacies. This ease of availability of items for the production of meth has allowed it to become one of the most wide spread illegal drugs available on the black markets. Meth labs are also a common target of police raids due to the dangers associated with meth, as well as other drugs that can be easily homemade.

The efforts to cease illegal drugs have caused heightened police surveillance, patrols and raids on buildings and organizations thought to be linked with narcotic use and selling. Drug testing by private and government employers is one of the efforts employers are taking to cease drug users from working for them. There have been many laws made around the globe relating to the issue of illegal drugs. While these laws are put into place to protect the interests of the people, they can be devastating for those who are caught and punished under those laws.
